Solaray L-5-HTP combined with vitamin C and B6 formulated to enhance synthesis of serotonin, a key neurotransmitter for the central nervous system. Vitamin B-6 is the co-factor for enzymes that convert L-tryptophan to serotonin, where vtamin C catalyzes the hydroxylation of tryptophan to serotonin. Solaray L-5-HTP is in the form of enteric coated capsules to better bypass the enzymes in the stomach. It seems to improve symptoms of depression, increase feelings of fullness, which may help you eat less and lose weight and may promote sleep by increasing melatonin production, an important sleep-regulating hormone.
